Sir Robert Walpole was formerly Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is often considered the first Prime Minister.

He entered office on 4 April 1721 and left office on 11 February 1742. Walpole also held other politics offices during his career, such as Whig First Lord of the Treasury, Chancellor of the Exchequer & Leader of the House of Commons. He was a member of the Whig party.
